August 23. Monday. Work in the morning. When I leave the house at half past seven the weather is cold and grey, but it warms up as the day progresses, unfolding into a bright and warm afternoon, a reminder that it’s still summer. I get the bus home after my shift and then L and I walk to Forge Dam. It’s damp in the woods. We eat an ice cream by the duck…
